National LIVEstrong Day -- May 12

Tuesday, May 13 is the National LIVEstrong Day being celebrated across the country by wearing yellow.  Preble High School's Sting Cancer group has paired up with the Breast Cancer Family Foundation in trying to promote this event, drawing attention to the need to make cancer a national priority.  A press conference is scheduled at Lambeau Field at noon on Monday, May 12, where Mayor Jim Schmitt will proclaim May 13 as Green Bay Livestrong - Sting Stronger - Wear Yellow Day.  On Tuesday, everyone is encouraged to join in wearing yellow to show support for cancer survivors.  From 7-8 p.m. at the Preble Football Stadium, a "Stronger as a Survivor" vigil will take place, which will include inspirational messages from survivors and music from several musicians affected by cancer.  At 8:00 there will be an ecologically friendly "Celebrate Life" balloon release.  Everyone is welcome.
