Read Across America

I do so like reading books!
I will read them here and there.
Say! I will read them anywhere!

The GBEA held a multi-media contest to celebrate Read Across America. Students were asked to submit a poster, audio or video clip that supported the above theme. Criteria for the contest was as follows:

  • The submission conveyed the message
  • The submission showed originality
  • The submission followed directions
  • The submission was the student's original work

The winners in the following divisions include:

Grades 1-2

 
 

Grades 3-5

 
 

Grades 6-8 (two awards were given)

Eisenhower ESL

On Tuesday, March 16, President David Harswick presented ESL students at Eisenhower Elementary School a $50.00 check for their video submission for GBEA's Read Across America contest. The students turned down a pizza party to instead give the money to HEAL (Helping Elevate thru Art an Love), which is a project started by a former student who was diagosed with leukemia.
